The Boat Oyster Bar is our full-service, outdoor cafe at Hog Island Oyster Farm. We serve a light, seasonal menu of raw and BBQ’d oysters, salads, cheese + charcuterie boards and fresh seafood specials.
All seating at The Boat Oyster Bar is outdoors beside the bay where our oysters are grown. We are open for full-service cafe dining by reservation only Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday. Reservations can be made online through RESY up to 90 days in advance. Thursdays, we are open for shuck-you-own oyster days on a walk-in basis only. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome at the oyster bar.
We do not allow outside food or drinks, including on shuck-your-own days. We do allow wine corkage for a fee of $20 per bottle for the first two bottles. Limited dessert items (i.e. birthday cake, cupcakes) and food or snacks for children 5 and under can also be brought into the oyster bar. We are open rain or shine, so please plan accordingly, as our seating is outdoors and not covered. We recommend wearing layers and bringing sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. Our marine weather changes quickly.
We will hold your reservation for 30 minutes. If you are more than 30 minutes late, your table will be given away, and you will be charged a $10 per person no-show fee. Please cancel through your RESY account by 9 PM the night before your reservation to avoid a $10 per-person no-show fee.

Walk-in tables are only available on Thursdays. Tables are by reservation only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. - Can I bring my own food?
We do not allow oustide food or drinks at our cafe, even on Shuck-Your-Own days. - Is there corkage?
Yes, we offer a corkage fee of $20/bottle for the first two bottles. - Can I shuck my own oysters?
Yes! We offer shuck-your-own oyster days on Thursdays on a walk-in basis from 11-4pm. Please, no outside food or drink. We have all the picnic and beverage items needed for your to enjoy at our picnic tables. - Are BBQ grills available?
We no longer offer BBQ grills for shuck-your-own oyster days. But we do offer BBQ’d oysters on our menu. - How many people can I bring?
We have different sized tables for parties of 1-10. Please do not exceed the number of people in your reservation or you will not be seated. - What happens if it rains? Is there covering?
We are open rain or shine. Our restaurant area is entirely outdoors and we only cover a portion of our tables during the winter months. - What if I leave some of my things behind?
