When you book a picnic table with a grill, we provide oyster shucking tools, lemons, hot sauce, fresh grated horseradish, Hogwash and a complimentary shucking lesson (just ask).

You may bring your own beer, wine, and other fare to barbeque and enjoy. To complement your picnic, local cheese, crackers, charcuterie, beer and wines can be purchased from The Boat Oyster Bar. On Friday through Monday, Chipotle Bourbon Butter BBQ’d oysters and oysters on the half shell are also available at the Boat.

Shucking your own oysters is reserved for parties with reservations. We hold your reservation for one hour after the start time. If you are late by more than an hour, your table will be given away and you will be charged the $5 per person picnic fee. If you cannot keep your reservation, please cancel 24 hrs in advance by calling our farm, 415 663 9218.

Tuesdays thru Thursdays communal tables are available on a walk-in basis for shuck-your-own oysters, these tables have no grills. If you want a table with a grill please make a reservation.

Thank you for including us in your plans. We are excited about sharing this special space with you. We are a functioning oyster farm and our picnic area is small portion of what we do on site. To provide an intimate and safe picnic experience for all, we limit the size of parties in the picnic area. Please read our policies before booking.

  1. What should I bring?

    Tableware, picnic foods including other things to grill and beer or wine.

  2. What is provided with the $5/person picnic fee?

  3. What about charcoal for the grill?

    You can bring your own or buy Mesquite charcoal for $7 from us. Either way, please use our chimney lighters. We do not allow the use of lighter fluid.

  4. What is not allowed?

    Hard liquor and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill.

  5. Can we grill meat on the BBQ?

    Yes, besides oysters, you can grill meat, chicken or veggies.

  6. How many people can we bring?

    Please do not exceed the number of people in your reservation.

  7. What happens if it rains?

    We are open rain or shine. It’s up to you to decide what is too wet or cold for you. Please cancel your reservation 24 hrs. in advance if you decide not to come. You can get local weather by going to www.wunderground.com and type in Marshall, CA.

  8. What time shall I arrive?

    We automatically hold your reservation for an hour from the start time (either 10:30 or 2:00). For the morning picnic, you can arrive any time between 10:30-11:30. For the afternoon picnic, you can arrive any time between 2:00-3:00.

  9. What’s the cancellation policy?

    If you need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance of your reservation. You can cancel by calling our farm at 415 663 9218.

  10. Do I need a reservation to Shuck-My-Own oysters?

    For a Shuck-Your-Own picnic table with a grill, you must make a reservation, seven days a week.
    On Tues, Wed and Thurs., there are Shuck-Your-Own Picnic tables (without grills) available on a walk-in basis.
    On weekends, there are no walk-in tables available.

  11. What if I leave some of my things behind?

    Our Lost and Found Department will hold left-behind articles for 30 days. Call 415 663-9218 x 201, M-F, 9-3.
